Chief of Staff to the COO

The Drone Racing League (DRL) is the premier, global drone-racing circuit and producer of world-class sports content. As a futuristic sport that blurs the line between the real and the digital, we get to race in the most legendary locations around the globe and immerse fans into video-game-inspired courses. 

We are seeking a Chief of Staff for our Chief Operating Officer. The Chief of Staff will play a key role in coordinating and executing a magnitude of projects across multiple business functions, specifically Event Production, Media Operations, and Race Engineering. Working closely with the executives and department heads across the organization, the Chief of Staff will be judicious with the COO’s calendar and time and be diligent in keeping key projects on track. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with the COO to manage operations across multiple business units including oversight of: tracking and monitoring KPIs and performance metrics, start to finish execution of special projects relating to the delivery of DRL events and products, cross departmental communication, day-to-day management of COO priorities and calendar
  • Work alongside Department Heads to coordinate and manage cross departmental meetings, data capture, reporting, and problem solving 
  • Analyze and manage administrative and operational functions as they relate to the management of the COO’s time 
  • Develop content for internal and external purposes (company presentations, external interviews and appearances, key meetings etc.)
  • Prepare for key team and company-wide meetings including leadership meetings, company key priority meetings, and other ad-hoc strategy discussions
  • Other duties as assigned or asked

Who You Are: 

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in: Business Management/ Planning, Project Management, Finance, and/or Operations
  • Experience managing multiple work streams with precise attention to detail
  • Experience executing projects effectively within complex and ambiguous environments
  • Strong collaboration experience and ability to find win/win situations
  • Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally when appropriate and as needed
