Senior Full Stack Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead the initiatives of building out the systems that integrate with our racing environment and architecting specialized tools for engineering and research.  This role requires wearing many different hats and calls for a full stack developer, who is dogmatic in their pursuit of excellence and ready to take on the exciting challenge of being within a fast-paced, multi-industry startup.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead application development including requirements gathering, architecture design, documentation, implementation and integration
  • Develop and expand the functionality of the DRL Race Operations System (RaceStack)
  • Support the application deployments on-site at DRL events, including live troubleshooting and analysis
  • Develop research-grade and engineering applications
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally and with our internal as well as external stakeholders
  • Other duties as asked or assigned

Who You Are: 

  • 3-5 years experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering 
  • Strong JavaScript skills, fluency with HTML5 and CSS as well as system interoperability including messaging, sockets, APIs and data interface layers
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards
  • Strong understanding of application development in a multi-platform environment
  • Proficient with Git including tags and issue management
  • Proficient with testing frameworks (Mocha, Jasmine, Jest)
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases and SQL (MongoDB, MySQL)
  • Experience working with React.js and Redux
  • Experience with Node.js and Express.js
  • Experience with a bug/issue tracking tool
  • Experience in building and working with cloud based infrastructure, specifically on AWS
  • Bonus: Experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Data visualization understanding and skills
  • Preferred experience with Shell/Bash, C/C++ or Python skills, and docker understanding 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment with exceptional organizational skills and ability to re-prioritize on a consistent basis
  • Independent and strategic thinker with a team first mentality while being willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed
